Our Journey Begins: Praying for the One We Already Adore
Joel and I decided that we couldn’t let National Adoption Awareness month go by without sharing the new chapter God is writing into our lives. It’s with thankful hearts on this day after Thanksgiving that we get to share the news that the Edelsons are adopting!
We know we have another long road of paperwork and waiting ahead (more on that later), but we aren’t unfamiliar with waiting. In our nearly 3 years of waiting so far, He has turned our impatience into waiting with true hope, our weariness into persevering, and our true joy in finding His will is always perfect. So we invite each of you who have been praying with us, along on our journey to learn about this beautiful and hard thing called adoption; to continue praying and hoping alongside us, and to watch our great God move in mighty ways.
We also know there are many questions when it comes to the process of adoption, and that’s totally understandable, we still have many ourselves! We promise to share what details and updates we can at the right time here on our new blog. Feel free to subscribe to get email updates, or check out my Facebook page for the links to these updates. If there is anything we cannot answer, please know it’s only because we are seeking to be sensitive to protecting our little one’s story, as it will be his/hers to share one day. We also decided to start this blog to be able to look back on the faithfulness of God along the way, as we know there will be many hard days and unmet expectations along the way (it’s true that it’s not easy, but SO worth it!). And then there’s that…we want the littlest Edelson to know they were always adored, chosen, cherished even before we knew his/her face and name.
We are eagerly looking forward to providing updates on the progress made to bring the littlest Edelson home, as well as to share what God is revealing to us about Himself through the miracle of adoption and this big journey of faith. In the next blog post, I hope to cover why we are adopting, how the process works and where we are at in that process. So be sure to stay tuned to learn more.
We want to sincerely and humbly thank you for coming along hand in hand with us along this new adventure. We thank you and humbly accept your prayers, love and words of love, celebration and support. It’s a gift to us, and we can’t wait to see how His perfect will unfolds.
Joyfully in Christ,
